Service Description

In this workshop Jai will demonstrate how to build a functional sculptural teapot in the form of an animal and lead the students through building their own. These animal teapots will be first built as solid forms, then hollowed out and reassembled as functional teapots. We will be going over techniques to make sure the teapots function properly. On the first day Jai will lead the students through building their teapots as solid forms and building the features of the animal. On day 2, everyone will hollow out the teapots and add any final details onto the animals such as fur texture and a handle. Jai will help everyone through these steps, so that by the end of these two days everyone will have a completed animal teapot ready to be dried and fired. Outcome: Everyone will have their own teapot ready to be bisque fired at the end of the 2 days. On the 3rd day, everyone will have a glazed teapot ready to be glaze fired.
